I chose Grape Escapes based on their positive reviews and the experience and impressive qualifications of their staff. WSET Level 4 is serious business! They definitely know a thing or two about wine and great customer service. We booked the Oliver & Osoyoos tour online as we were interested in trying more of the reds from that region. We were picked up right on time by our guide Rod, in a comfortable Mercedes van and were joined by a fun family from Montreal. We visited the VQA centre before heading out of Penticton and visited 5 wineries in Oliver & Osoyoos. The bread at Platinum Bench was a highlight of the tour as was the delicious wine served in a relaxed & friendly atmosphere at Hester Creek (thanks Sandy!). Rod was always on hand to take pictures and answer questions. He seemed to appear magically with crackers and chocolate exactly when we needed them. The wine shopping bag and the personally labeled wine boxes in the back of the van were also a really nice touch. A note about lunch: The tour includes snacks & water but does not include lunch. However, there are options to suit every budget and taste. We chose to bring our own picnic lunch. There is also the option to pre-purchase a picnic lunch when you book the tour or there are some wineries that sell charcuterie items. Did I already mention the bread at Platinum Bench? Grape Escapes can also make a reservation for you at one of the lovely winery restaurants. Rod presented all of the options to our group and we all enjoyed a picnic lunch together on the patio at Hester Creek. We’ve been lucky enough to visit many wine regions around the world and have had many wonderful memorable experiences. Big thanks to Grape Escapes for adding to that list.
